IT executives in the Ottawa area can now mark their calendars for a stimulating and informative discussion on security. Top Canadian IT-management event producer, The IT Media Group, will be hosting one of its highly interactive Strategic Insights breakfast sessions on Thursday, February 26, in downtown Ottawa.
“Securing Information in an Unsecure World” will offer up a wealth of insights from industry experts as they engage in candid conversation with nationally renowned IT media personality, John Pickett, Head of Executive Programs for The IT Media Group. The invitation-only audience of IT executive peers will be given plenty of opportunity to get their security questions answered by some of the best minds in the industry.
Providing a large-enterprise perspective are Aaron Nichols, Vice President, Governance, Security and Service Management with Innovapost, and Tom Bornais, Director, Information Security with NAV Canada.
Neils Johnson, technical evangelist for Symantec, a global leader in infrastructure software, will share his vast knowledge of security issues, gleaned over his 19-year career with the company. He travels the globe, collecting “real world” information related to IT security and delivering it back to the company, so that his findings can be incorporated into product development. Neils has the ability to talk about technical issues in simple terms, and he has a keen understanding of the company’s vision and strategy.
The Ottawa discussion will touch on many key areas of IT management security, including:
- Security and privacy in the Cloud.
- How much security is enough? Selling security to corporate leadership.
- Balancing control with productivity.
- Security strategies for social media and mobile technologies.
- Testing your defences.
- Guarding against specific threats.
- The future threatscape and how to prepare for it.
More information about the agenda will be posted on The IT Media Group’s Web site as it becomes available.
Qualified IT executives wishing to receive an invitation can do so by filling out the brief VIP registration form.
