LinkedIn honors The IT Media Group with the award of "Best Company Pages"

We're just tickled pink. The social media site, LinkedIn, just announced the results of its quest for the Company Pages that make the best use of its latest features. The IT Media Group was one of only 12 global firms that won the award, joining The Walt Disney Company, CNBC, Hubspot and Adobe in the winners’ circle. Company Pages enable us to engage our followers and promote the company and its activities. LinkedIn published the list of winning companies on its popular blog page.

In announcing the winners, LinkedIn’s spokesperson said, "The best Company Pages represent member recommendations for companies that have compelling images, engaging posts and rich content."

Location Economics Sparks Discussions in Financial Services

On Wednesday, November 14th, 2012 The IT Media Group facilitated a roundtable discussion about Location Economics with a group of senior financial services executives. Our client, DMTI Spatial, a provider of industry-leading Location Economics solutions, hosted the session at the Gardiner Museum. 

After a welcome address by John Fisher, CEO and chairman of DMTI Spatial, the session was kicked off by John Pickett, Principal and VP of Executive Programs at The IT Media Group. Mr. Pickett introduced Asif Khan, president and founder of the Location Based Marketing Association (LBMA). Just returned from his travels to Asia and Europe, Mr. Khan briefed participants about the uptake of location specific opportunities worldwide. He explained that data volume, velocity and variety are the three key factors that drive the adoption of location intelligence solutions.

Several Canadian CIOs have responded to The IT Media Group’s request for input into the whitepaper “Best Practices in Internal IT Marketing”, which is being researched and written by ITMG’s VP Content, Dave Carey.

DMTI Spatial inks deal with The IT Media Group

Location intelligence solutions firm DMTI Spatial of Toronto has signed a contract for event facilitation services with The IT Media Group, joining the company’s growing client roster, which includes Oracle, Hewlett-Packard, and IBM.

The IT Media Group will help DMTI moderate a special roundtable and dinner for financial industry executives this fall in Toronto, entitled Capitalising on Location Economics. The roundtable discussion will revolve around the use of location-based information and how it can be leveraged to drive bottom-line value and enhance customer relationships for financial institutions.

Fourteen CIOs gathered in Toronto at the end of May for a candid discussion around the future of the profession. The latest in The IT Media Group’s CIO Master Series Roundtables focussed on the theme “The CIO in Transition”.

The event, sponsored by Hewlett-Packard (Canada) Co., was attended by IT leaders from large and mid-sized firms in a variety of sectors, including financial, retail, transportation and the public sector. It prompted a wide variety of opinions on how the role of CIO is changing, and how CIOs themselves can proactively take control of their own fate within the organization.
